[After a moment there is a new notice, this time the girl speaks in a cheerful voice]

[Ah, but his entire goal with the call -- now that he had made sure she was (relatively) all right, was to make her feel important.] It's a good title, isn't it? [She wouldn't see the concern enter his expression at her cough, but perhaps it was just as well.] I doubt that it is possible to pass it in such a way; I was in close contact with my roommate, and he did not fall ill.

[I know, right? Bastards.]

'Hard to figure out' is one of the only descriptions I can give him in all accuracy. Sometimes he is as the man I remember, and sometimes he echoes the friend I thought lost. It is hard to reconcile the two.

[He did make an amused sound at her words though -- glad to take his mind off of Genesis.] Very few things in life come with concrete proof. But there are theories built on thoughts, and theories built on evidence. It is unfortunate we do not have more of the latter, in this instance.

[Yeah but she doesn't like feeling important. That gets people in trouble.] I couldn't think of a better title myself. [she did chuckle softly, my how she felt the title was fitting however.] If your sure you'll be alright.

[She coughed again, settling deeper down in her couch] Hmm... [she kept this information in mind, really. More to her own puzzle to solve. She wanted to meet this Genesis now, to put her own thoughts on him. Anyone who was looking after Sephiroth when he was sick can't be too bad, hmm?]

I'm sure there will be some evidence here soon enough. Or at least someone who thinks they have some. Either that or it's just someone's powers going out on them. That happens a lot... though who's powers would make people sick, I don't know. [she rubbed her face, thinking that was lame to say or think. clearly she wasn't thinking right today]

[Clearly he was going to be a constant source of unrest for her.] Then it's settled. We'll find an engraver to make the plaque. [A small affirmative sound met her words.] I am sure.

[Her cough worried him a little; yes, the Mako in his system had overcome whatever infection plagued him faster than would that of one not so enhanced, but it still seemed as if she should not be so affected. Perhaps he had overestimated the immune systems of the unenhanced? It was something to consider, but for later, not to bother her now.]

I suppose all we can do is wait; it will out itself sooner or later. Idle speculation gets us ideas, but little more. [It wasn't lame at all, in that it went into his mental file of possible powers that people could have. In a way the Port could be so similar to Midgar, but it the next breath it proved itself truly a world apart.]

[that made her chuckle, softly. She now had a title and a plaque. She let that tease drop though, being a bit more serious as she said softly] If you're going to stop by, it's apartment 306. Center section of the two towers. Not hard to miss.

[She had a normal immune system that didn't have to deal with sickness often. Doubtless it was confused on why she was sick when it wasn't that time of the year to BE sick yet. And she was mostly over the bad stuff, just a small cough left is all. He would see, it wasn't so bad, then she can tell him to stop his fussing.]

It gives you something for your brain to ponder over. [she commented back about speculations.] But this whole places can do that. If you can't blame the core you blame powers. Kind of sad, really...

How does an hour from now sound?

[If a six-foot-something genetically engineered supersoldier wanted to fuss, then he was going to fuss. But it also would give him the opportunity to observe the symptoms in another -- or at least to talk about them, for the sake of comparison. Something that infected once could do so again, and Sephiroth wanted to be prepared for the possibility.]

That it does. [There was a small background noise of shifting, cloth and metal and leather coming together in various combinations as Sephiroth shifted from half-reclined to fully upright.] The speculation is a good exercise, I believe. But perhaps too many people cut it off early for the ease of blaming these things unknown.

That sounds fine. I'm not going anywhere. [and it gave her a moment to clean up. Or, well, her place was fine, so perhaps it gave her a moment to pass out for forty minutes then get up and change to be somewhat presentable.]

[Go on with your bad self and fuss on, or use it as a research project which might be easier to explain to cover for fussing. None the less...]

Well, it is easier to just blame something else and move on. [she admitted. That was how the world worked though. She sometimes worked that way too, sadly... it's always her bad luck] Or at least that's how it seems around here.

Good. That saves me the trouble of hunting you down. [It was a tease, but he really would try to find her if she tried to hide from him. He was glad that she wasn't.] Is there anything I can pick up for you?

[Shush, you.]

Yes. The path of least resistance. We've all done it. [There was a small shrug, that of course she couldn't see.] I would not worry on it, unless it becomes habit.
